Rare Breed Ducks
I have kept rare breed ducks since 1998. My breeding stock comes from Holderreads Waterfowl Farm and Preservation Center in Corvallis, Oregon. I have always found Holderreads' stock to be of high quality.
Silver Appleyard Ducks
Silver Appleyards are considered triple duty ducks: meat, eggs, and beautiful plumage. They are a large breed and good egg-layers for their size.
Ancona Ducks
Ancona ducks are a medium-size and have unusual plumage. No two Anconas are identical, similar to painted horses.
Khaki Campbell Ducks
Khaki Campbells are known for egg-laying; some hens will outlay chickens. I have found that these ducks lay earlier in our cold climate and are definitely more prolific than the other breeds I keep.
